Why Choose Castlewood
There are many
excellent treatment centers for eating disorders.
How is Castlewood unique or different?
1.
We are small.
Only ten clients in house with 34 staff – allowing
highly individualized intensive treatment.
2.
We individualize care.
If you have obsessive-compulsive disorder, body
dysmorphic disorder, social anxiety disorder,
major depression, multiple addictions, dissociative
disorder, we will provide specific treatment for
the eating disorder plus these concurrent issues.
3.
We specialize in trauma-resolution
therapies.
For clients with a history of childhood or adult
trauma, we offer state of the art therapies for
resolution of experiences that were overwhelming.
Whether a one time incident that led to Post Traumatic
Stress symptoms, or developmentally prevalent
issues.
4.
We utilize Internal Family
Systems Therapy.
All of our therapy
staff have had training in Internal Family Systems,
which allows us to work as a team on understanding
the function of the eating disorder symptoms and
to help the client discover alternative survival
strategies.
5.
Our focus is more than simply
refeeding or control of symptoms.
Our goal is to help launch a person in their development
of a full life. This includes support to transition
to or re-enter college, job, marriage, so, that
support systems, when you leave, can sustain your
change.
6.
We provide a full continuum
of care.
We have found that almost all clients slip following
the support and safety of the in-house program.
We therefore, opened a stepdown house to allow
clients more freedom and independence to practice
recovery rebound from the inevitable slips. It
is a beautiful house on 4 acres, where 7 women
live and support one another with the assistance
of a professional. We can also further step a
client to partial hospitalization or Intensive
Outpatient Program to provide a spectrum of recovery
experience.
7.
We provide Specialized Psychiatric Care.
We have a full-time psychiatrist who is both a
neurologist and an addictionologist. He understands
cravings and the brain systems that contribute
to eating disorders. His medications are often
crucial in facilitating getting under control
and responding optimally to psychotherapy.
8.
We encourage Family Involvement.
We have family weekend every 6 weeks, which involves
all interested family members in group and individualized
treatment. We will also, when appropriate, provide
family and marital therapies at no additional
charge.
