Castlewood is committed to helping our clients continue the recovery process even after they have discharged from our care. We have developed an alumni program for all clients who have successfully completed their treatment at Castlewood.
Meet our Director of Alumni Relations
Nancy graduated from the University of Denver with a Master’s degree in counseling in 1977. She began her career in an outpatient counseling practice where she worked for 10 years as a Certified Marriage and Family therapist. During this time she and her husband started their family. Nancy was a “stay at home mom” for 22 years after which she returned to school and attained her 2nd Master’s degree in Counseling from Missouri Baptist University. In December of 2011, she began work at Castlewood as Alumni coordinator and is presently working as a Discharge Coordinator and Director of Alumni Relations. Nancy has a passion for working with clients as they begin their recovery journey.

Castlewood has developed an alumni website for all clients that have successfully completed one of our programs. This is a secure website where alumni can create a user name and password to access. This site includes a community blog, discussion forum, recovery tips and advice and so much more. We hope that our alumni continue to take advantage of this site and develop the content. Castlewood publishes a monthly alumni newsletter for former clients and their families.
After clients complete a comprehensive discharge plan with one of our discharge coordinators, our alumni relations coordinator begins follow up with clients. She contacts clients one week after discharge to discuss the adjustment to real life and any problems with their discharge plan. At one month post discharge, the alumni relations coordinator calls clients and checks in on their progress post treatment. She facilitates this check in at one month intervals for six months. Clients can also anonymously participate in our research follow up program by filling out eating disorder inventories which are emailed to them by our research coordinator.
In an effort to strengthen participation in our alumni weekend, website and follow-up program, Castlewood leadership and Board of Directors have decided that we will no longer provide three-day check-ins for discharged clients. It is our goal to help clients move into their new life and beyond Castlewood. If a client desires further treatment, they may contact the intake department and discuss options for a brief admission to our various programs. To contact intake, please call 877.628.1193.
