For over ten years, Dr. Jim Gerber has been an essential part of the Castlewood Treatment Center family by providing compassionate and professional services to his clients. 2012 was a year of continued growth and success for Castlewood Treatment Centers.  We have maintained the excellence in services we provide while at the same time expanding our properties. Opened a Day Treatment House on the campus of Castlewood II that sleeps 8 clients at no charge. Nosh and Network- Kansas City- Great Turnout

On Friday November 2, 2012 Castlewood Treatment Center together with the American Counseling Association of Missouri- Kansas City Chapter hosted a Nosh and Network Conference. The workshop was held at the Overland Park Convention Center and was attended by over 60 professionals including therapists, social workers, counselors, and psychologists. Castlewood provided the featured speakers Ms. Katie Thompson, LPC, NCC and Ms. Erin McGinty, MS, LPC. The conference presenters discussed the comprehensive treatment of Binge Eating Disorder and Anxiety Disorders, with a focus on practical application and interventions. Eating Disorder NOS- ABC News Feature

Last night, ABC aired a segment on EDNOS- Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified. The general population is not as familiar with this eating disorder as they may be with diagnosis such as Anorexia or Bulimia. However,  EDNOS is a very serious illness with an estimated mortality rate of 5.2%.  EDNOS is one of the most common eating disorder diagnosis, as it encompasses all eating disorder behaviors that do not fit into the criteria for anorexia or bulimia. In October, Castlewood hosted a three day conference with featured speaker  Patricia Crittenden, Ph.D – attachment theory researcher  The conference was attended by clinicians from St. Louis and across the US as well as Castlewood staff. I sit here tonight, a junior in nursing school, at a top 3% nursing school in the nation, finally feeling like I am truly doing what I am supposed to be doing and living my life to the fullest.
