The Highlands Treatment Center for Eating Disorders is set to open this July and will provide Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient, and General Outpatient services to males and females ages 18 and older. We plan to expand services to adolescent males and females in January 2014. The Missouri Eating Disorder Association hosted its annual fundraising gala event this past Saturday evening in St. Louis, Missouri. Castlewood Treatment Centers was the presenting sponsor for the event which was attended by supporters from across Missouri. The Missouri Eating Disorder Association (MOEDA) is the Missouri chapter of the National Eating Disorder Association. The Gala was a huge success, raising funds for eating disorder education, advocacy, prevention, and treatment in the state of Missouri. This May the American Psychiatric Association will release the DSM-V with many changes to the landscape of mental health diagnoses. One of these changes is the inclusion of Binge Eating Disorder as its own distinct eating disorder diagnosis. This week Nancy Albus, LPC Chief Executive Officer of Castlewood Treatment Centers is attending the International Conference on Eating Disorders. The Academy of Eating Disorders coordinates the ICED conference annually, which is held in Montreal this year.
