I am currently working with three clients who have graduated from Castlewood’s program for Eating Disorders, both male and female. I have found the Castlewood staff to be very professional and committed to each client’s recovery. While my clients were in treatment at Castlewood, I spoke on a weekly basis with their therapist, and was apprised at all times of their progress. I have found the IFS model of treatment to be highly effective for treating trauma and its effects, and I continue to use IFS with my clients to further their recovery. I applaud the work that Castlewood does with an extremely challenging client population.

Castlewood Treatment Center has served as an invaluable resource for me and my clients. Castlewood is a model of what eating disorders recovery can be – a coupling of innovative and expansive therapeutic methodologies in a supportive, serene environment. The clinical staff at Castlewood comprises the most talented, dedicated therapists in the world, with individualized programming uniquely attuned to the needs of each client. The recovery process at Castlewood is a partnership – clients develop a core sense of competence and ownership of their recovery path. My clients leave Castlewood empowered to continue their healing journey with their outpatient team, families, and friends.

As a clinician, I have referred to Castlewood many times over the years, as have members of my staff. Particularly for those clients dealing with complex trauma and severe eating disorders, in my experience this is the facility of choice. The clinical staff is exceptionally well versed in the latest trauma treatment methodologies; this knowledge, combined with the use of Internal Family Systems therapy, provides those most in need of comprehensive intervention the best hope for long term recovery. In addition, Castlewood takes great care to help clients transition back to their primary treatment team. Team members are kept informed of client progress, and a full assessment is made at discharge. In addition, Castlewood staff is available for additional consultation as needed. Given the delicate nature of trauma work, the psychologically comprehensive and powerful paradigm of IFS, and an incredible clinical team, I would not hesitate to recommend Castlewood’s program.

It is with confidence and gratitude that I fully endorse Castlewood Treatment Center. Since 1994, I have specialized in the field of eating disorders in Louisville, KY. During the last several years, I have referred several patients to Castlewood I and Castlewood II. The continuity of care is both impressive and thorough. Each of my referrals was treated with the utmost respect, compassion, and care.
For years, I struggled to find long term treatment that would adequately treat the root of the problem; trauma and attachment issues. Through the skill and leadership of both Lori Galperin and Mark Schwartz, Castlewood helps gently unearth the core issues of which food addiction and poor body image are merely symptoms.
Castlewood’s effective use of Internal Family Systems (IFS) and other modalities of treatment ensure patients are treated as more than their illness, but as human beings with innate strengths. The skillful staff provides the safe container for the patient to release their protective behaviors and allow their potential to shine forth. In essence, Castlewood helps patients begin to choose life.
Moreover, Castlewood is still my first choice for treatment for eating disorders. Thank you for providing quality comprehensive help in which I feel confident patients will indeed receive what they need.
