Male eating disorder treatment program

For the Family

At Castlewood we believe that our clients have the best chance at recovery if we involve their support system in the treatment process. We encourage the family to be involved  in the process from admission to discharge as well as for after-care. Eating Disorders effect the entire family and often family dynamics need to be discussed and revised in order to insure a full and lasting recovery.

Admissions

During the admissions process, Castlewood wants to hear from you! Our dedicated intake counselors are happy to gather additional clinical from your first hand observations of your family member. We would also love to hear your perspective on your loved ones needs for treatment.

Many of our clients need or choose to be accompanied to treatment by a loved one. We encourage this and one of our therapists will meet with your family on the day of admission to answer any questions as well as gather pertinent family history. Our intake staff will also give you a tour and have you meet with our business office staff to answer any insurance or financial questions.

Family Therapy

Castlewood provides family therapy throughout the course of treatment. We encourage families to visit during visiting hours, come for the weekend, attend family week, or whatever is a viable option for your family. We offer family therapy on the weekends, during family week, and via telephone to assist our clients in the family healing process. Family therapy involves each member exploring their role in the family dynamics, often redefining some of these roles, and developing healthy communication and boundaries as a family. This is also a time for the client to begin to open the lines of communication and honesty about their eating disorder and other underlying psychological issues.

Family Week

Castlewood Treatment Center offers family week every 6 weeks for our current clients and their support systems. Clients can choose to invite parents, siblings, spouses, or anyone else they want to include in their recovery process. Please visit the family week section of our website for more information on this program.
