Each client at Castlewood works closely with a primary team comprised of a therapist, dietitian, and staff psychiatrist. Castlewood believes that treating the medical, therapeutic, and nutritional issues of each client at the same time will provide stronger, more effective recovery.
Recovered vs Recovering - Providing Care Even After You Leave Residential Treatment
We have found that most clients need time to practice the skills learned in Residential Eating Disorder Treatment. We provide both a Partial Hospitalization Program (link) as well as an Intensive Outpatient Program (link) to help clients implement new skills and insights learned in therapy. Transitional living is available to clients participating in this program at an additional cost. Clients receive support from peers, implement relapse prevention plans and continue with customized, individual therapy, all while learning new skills in this life launching program. After discharge, clients can participate in our Alumni Program which includes 6 months of follow-up, semi-annual events, monthly newsletters and a dedicated alumni website.
We Encourage Family Involvement
At Castlewood we believe it is essential to include a client’s family / support system into the recovery process. The latest research on treatment effectiveness shows that our clients have the best chance at recovery when we involve their family/support system in the treatment process. We provide integrated family therapy in each of our treatment programs. We schedule an intensive experiential Family Week every 6-8 weeks. Clients invite all interested family members to 3 days of group and individualized treatment. We also schedule additional individualized family therapy, and couples therapy with spouses/ partners, between each Family Week. Not all clients receive each of these modalities in their individualized plan of therapy for eating disorders. Depending on the client’s particular history and unique constellation of issues, a personalized set of effective approaches will be utilized by the Castlewood treatment team.
