Admissions & Financial Info

Admitting to Castlewood

At Castlewood, we understand that choosing  a treatment facility is a difficult and complicated choice. Castlewood’s dedicated intake professionals will be happy to answer any questions you have about Castlewood’s various programs. Castlewood treats men and women age 16 and older. To begin the admissions process, our clinicians will set up a FREE over the phone  or face to face clinical intake assessment with the potential client. The assessment typically takes around an hour and allows us to gather information pertaining to current ED symptoms, other clinical symptoms and relevant life and family history.

Our clinicians will also gather any relevant information from family, friends, or outpatient clinicians as permission is granted from the potential client.  Once the intake assessment is complete and has been reviewed by our clinical team, we can begin the admissions process.

When our team has determined an admission date for the client, the client will need to work with his/her physician to complete a History and Physical, Lab Blood Work, Urine Analysis, Urine Drug Screen, EKG, Bone Density Scan, and TB PPD.  The labs, Urine Analysis, Urine Drug Screen, and EKG cannot be more than 7 days old at the time of admissions. The specific lab check list and forms can be downloaded from our Admission Forms page.

Questions to ask when evaluating a treatment facility

In order to help you make your decision, we have provided a list of questions to ask when evaluating a treatment facility.

  1. Do they offer a complete continuum of care, so you’re not just taken from being under professional care to suddenly being sent home, all on your own?
  2. Do they have dieticians who develop unique programs, well-suited to each individual client?
  3. Do they offer individual attention as well as group therapy?
  4. Do they work with families one-on-one as opposed to just group inter-action, and do they deal with the unique needs of each family?
  5. Do they offer behavioral therapies for obsessive/compulsive disorders.
  6. What are the adjunctive therapies offered to help clients operate in the world?
  7. What’s the environment like? Is it a brick building in a hospital, or is it more of a home-like, healing environment?
  8. How many years has your therapist been working in the field of eating disorders?
  9. Has the facility retained its Core Staff?
  10. Do they treat only eating disorder clients? Or are eating disorder clients mixed in with other clients that are receiving treatment for other things?
  11. Do they provide a treatment “program”? Or a treatment “track”?
  12. Do clients eat in a cafeteria? Or are specialized foods prepared for eating disorder clients?
