Golf Tournament Supports Scholarship Program by Project HEAL

Encouraged by the success of last year’s benefit golf tournament to support Project HEAL, we have set the wheels in motion for a second tournament. On Monday, October 5, at Fox Run Golf Club, 1 Putt Lane, in nearby Eureka we will be hosting our 2nd Annual Golf Tournament benefitting Project HEAL. We are hoping to exceed last year’s total of $60,000, which has helped Project HEAL provide scholarships for various levels of treatment for eating disorders. The tournament proceeds will continue to help individuals who suffer from potentially life-threatening eating behaviors, with grants ranging from $100 for an hour appointment with a nutritionist or therapist to $30,000 for a full month of residential treatment. Project HEAL began when two women who suffered from eating disorders realized the tremendous need for education about the despair of living with these behaviors and for support of the millions of people who suffer from them. The project has grown into a national non-profit organization that carries a message of hope in the possibility of a new, healthy lifestyle. Since its founding, Project HEAL has helped 34 individuals and their families in the process of recovery from conditions such as anorexia, bulimia, binge eating and compulsive overeating.

Tournament Includes Various Levels Of Financial Participation

The cost to participate in our golf tournament is $300 per player or $1,200 for a group of four. Fees include time on the practice area, a boxed lunch to be served on the clubhouse patio, 18 holes of golf, a cart, a gift for each player, contests on the course and a post-golf reception and dinner. The Fox Run course takes advantage of the natural landscape in creating challenging tees, but also appeals to all levels of players. Sponsorship opportunities are also available for those wishing to contribute and also have flexible cost options and perk levels. Registrations and sponsorship opportunities are open until September 28, 2015. More information can be found on the tournament’s event page here.
